Biography

A former college professor, author of one of the highest ranked Southwestern Art and Travel books on Amazon.com., Robert has traveled extensively throughout Indian country attending virtually every major American Indian art show in the Western U.S. and visiting Native American communities throughout the country. Robert is an excellent photographer, utilizing a high resolution camera with a long lens for capturing intimate images of people and places around the globe. He has sailed on the Crystal Symphony, the Marco Polo, the Crown Odyssey, the Silver Cloud,the Silver Shadow, the Norwegian Dream, the Norwegian Sun, Seven Seas Navigator and the Windjammer S/V Mandalay. In addition to travels throughout Europe,he has made frequent visits to Canada and Mexico in the last couple of years. The past year or so has involved travel to Malaysia, the Philippines, Cancun, Maine, North Carolina,The Galapagos Islands and other destinations including the Copper Canyon of Mexico, the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, Iceland, Turkey, South Africa and Buenos Aires. A visit to the Polar bears in Manitoba, a white water rafting trip to Ecuador and an ice climbing adventure in Alaska have been completed in the past few months. Robert has recently returned to New Mexico following a brief stay in Sarasota, Florida, where he developed a travel page for Attitudes Magazine.

Robert is author of The Native American Indian Artist Directory, a guide to Native American communities and artists across the country, with emphasis on artists in the Southwestern United States. (Now out of print.)

He is the staff travel writer for RedSky Publishing and Southwest Senior and submits articles and photographs regularly on an independent basis to numerous other print and internet publications such as Prime Time, Real Travel Adventures International Magazine, SoGoNow, TravelLady Magazine,Tango Diva,OffBeat Travel, AllWays Traveling, Sarasota Herald Tribune, Ottawa Citizen ,Travel World International and the Albuquerque Journal among others.

In addition, he lectures on the use of digital cameras for travel photography as well as lectures on travel writing. He has published hundreds of travel photos along with many travel articles in print magazines and newspapers as well as some of the highest ranked online travel publications.

Robert also offers lectures on the art, culture and folklore of the Native American Indian. He was a charter member of the Indian Arts & Crafts Association and supports SWAIA (Santa Fe Indian Market) and the Smithsonian National Museum of the American Indian.
