Biography
Elizabeth Beshear is the Executive Director of the North American Travel Journalists Association (NATJA). She became a part of NATJA in December 2001. Beshear, native of La Crescenta, CA, has a diversified portfolio: she has expertise and experience in sales, advertising, marketing, and public relations. After earning a political science degree at Central Michigan University, which she attended on a full athletic scholarship, Beshear began her career in radio advertising for flagship Clear-Channel station WKQI Q95.5 in Detroit and used her skills in sales and proposal/commercial writing to become one of the area's top young account executives. Her college background in business administration and Spanish (her double minor) helped. In 2000, she transferred to Premiere Radio Networks Corporate office (Clear Channel) and moved back to her hometown of Los Angeles to diversify her career and be closer to her family. She continued to polish her business skills, working with such clients as Cox Communications, LA Insider, and OC Now.
In 2001, Beshear expanded her resume by joining the Hayley Sumner Company, a boutique public relations firm in Los Angeles that was also an associate member of NATJA. Its diverse client base included Step Up Women's Network, Phoenix House, Le Meridien at Beverly Hills along with other Entertainment/Travel Industry companies.
After four years at NATJA, Beshear left in December 2005. She worked briefly in the Development Department at the Switzer Learning Center in Torrance, CA before she was recruited back to NATJA in November 2006.
Elizabeth Beshear resides in El Segundo with her Husband Matthew, their daughter Kendall James, and their two dogs, Mr. Killian and Duncan
