Biography

Began journalism in 1977 as reporter then editor of the Nuns' Island Journal, a community weekly in Montreal, Quebec. Served as editor of Entrepreneur, a monthly business tabloid, then became an editor of several magazines at CRV Publications in Montreal, including trade and consumer magazines. Began freelance travel writing in 1984 with the Montreal Gazette, where I have been a regular contributor, as well as to other member papers of CanWest Newspaper Group, Canada's largest newspaper group, and to other publications, including Luxury Magazine and Orlando magazine. I am also an accomplished photographer, and have published many photographs in both newpapers and magazines. In 2001, I also began co-authoring with my wife, the former Gail Cockerill of England.
