Biography

Cleo Paskal has the dubious honour of being one of the few people who has written for both The Economist and the (better paying) Weekly World News. Her print, radio, television and film assignments have been equally varied, taking her from Timbuktu (for BBC radio) to the Largest Ball of Twine in Minnesota (for Channel 4). She preferred the Ball of Twine. She is regularly published ? and has written and produced TV ? in the U.K., U.S., and Canada. And yes, she was also the voice of Betty Koala in the (not) cult classic cartoon series Adventures of the Little Koalas. Thanks for asking.

Cleo's obsession with the world's smallest countries led her to produce and host a series on the topic for the BBC World Service. It also led to her marrying a man from the Faroe Islands. She preferred the man. Additionally, it makes her a particularly boring dinner guest.

Of her many awards, she is most proud of her "Least Likely To Move Out", given to her by her father. Her travel columns appear weekly in Canada?s national newspaper, the National Post.
